Weekly update

And some more pictures from past week as follows:

Remember these Lego motorbikes?

Winter on the beach

Never I saw snow and ocean on one picture before. Kids made some football playground at the beach. Expedition to the nearby island showed us the power of wind. Probably, nautical season doesn't finish here.
BTW: Enoshima island will be "Valentine island" from 2 for 14 February. I'm really curious and want to see what does it mean ;D

Cannon balls formed with snow and lava-sand.

Snow!

It can be nothing unusual for you in Europe, but snow has surprised me in front of my house today. However, my surprise in comparison with my neighbors under 15 surprise is little. They didn't knew what to do - throw snow-balls or build a snowman. At the end they started to construct an igloo.

Wings

Close to our place, in Atsugi, the biggest American Military Base in Pacific is located. Thanks to that, sometimes, walking on the streets or even sitting home, you can't hear your own thoughts. I'm wonder if the citizens doesn't mind...

But F-18's in order, during evolutions over your head, look incredible! I promise to catch them sometime and show you :)

Around Fuji-san

If you live in Tokyo, the best place to rest from noise&crowd is area in foot of Fuji volcano. Not talking about climbing - the route in summer period looks like queue to the shop during new years sale. I'm talking about fine places which enclosing the mountain. Forests, steppes, waterfalls. Pure beauty, with moderate tourist's infrastructure. The best way is by car, as we today. An hour of riding and highlights are begun. Sights, temples, caves and lakes.

\

We have bypassed round Fuji. However, it has not showed us his northern side. Clouds have covered it. I saw only that there it is less snow. A pity, that there are no ski lifts...

Chinese gyoza

Bit of communism?
It is possible in Chinese restaurant close to dormitory in sub-Tokyo Tsukuba University. The best ravioli in the area. However, you must agree with certain principles. The place is the owner in kitchen (Chinese) and waitress (Japanese). A table in the center with large pot of rice, cups and green tea container. You get a table and tea; you order. Obviously Japanese menu only, even prices are in kanji.

Let's say, traditional Chinese ravioli with meat (gyoza) in set with rice, sauce, salad, soup and beer. Waitress brings beer, salad and sauce, then informs you what to do: beer is possible to pour to glasses; salad is to eat; and the sauce is for rice (which you will be able to serve yourself when asked. Owner looks on you suspiciously from the distance, he prepares ordered ravioli.
Moment passes.
And the best begin: a moment before main dish is served you obtain a signal to get the rice. Now it is necessary to think over what to do, because it is not possible to make it second time but you have to eat everything. Really! When you will not eat all you have on the plate, the owner will be pissed. He shouts and can kick you out of the bar. And also if you not pour all the sauce to the rice I wouldn't get the soup. It's is hard condition. Everything must be in a way the owner wants. Any option is finished in moment of order.
The joint has great in spite of all big popularity. So, definitely, because it has legend around that is nowhere else.
This is a real orient, a key to success also maybe?

20 years

At last I saw somebody wearing kimono on the street. Today's adults day, Sejin-no-hi is an adultness start for 20 years Japanese boys and girls.
Alcohol and cigarettes buying in legal!!!
They show up in the streets at day, wearing special kimono with fur. In the evening they go drink somewhere. There is plenty of trash on the sidewalks in the morning.

By the way, I came back to my place. I'm comfortable.
I do pictures to people again.

Back in Tokyo

I'm back. The flight longer than last time, but took less time. Jumbos are flying faster than AirBuses. And more interesting color in Britain ;)

Below some views taken during approaching Tokyo Narita Airport.
Funny that the airport has only one starting lane. That's because the authorities couldn't force local farmers to sell their ground...
