Sumo three

Before every fight assistants bring sponsor's flags. Each flag means 6man (60,000JPY) enveloped for the winning player as a bonus given just after the fight. A moment of rituals and lashing out begins.

Sometimes a fighter lands in the audience, sometimes a result is canceled due to some reason (injury for an instance). Fights happen one after another in the row. Best are fighting at the end. Tribunes are full of emotions. Rules, softened by bountiful alcohol, allow numerous whoops, active encouragement, throwing pillows etc. A lot of foreign wrestlers; mostly from former USSR. Kinda-specific fight was the one between Baltic and Black seas (Estonia-Gorgia).

Summarizing: great folklore, wonderful amusement, sui generis color. Another point on my must-see list checked.

Sumo two

Sumo one

While the best wrestlers are presenting their atractive bodies all the audience is coming down to the tribune. Traditional loges downstairs, standard chairs upstairs. In loges free alcohol and load of food, bigger vip's are welcomed with extra presents.
4pm, younger wrestlers were fighting since 8am. Now it's the time for the presentation ceremony of the lead wrestlers and special show of two yokozuna's. It's gonna start in a minute...

Weddings in a carousel system, every 20 minutes.

Free Monday with far neighbors from another island. Standard route Shinjuku to Shibuya via park and Harajuku. Final in the boozer under the bridge. That's a brand new point of this tour.
