Fuji Rock Festival '08

Three days of peace, love and music. This year was much more poor than last one. No delightful surprises on unknown bands shows. Main lineup happened to be a choice of British pop-rock. Japanese bands were wearish as well, too popular, without special imaginativeness. The odd ones out were mono, especially their female bassist and the zutons with their female sax.
This years festival set was almost exactly the same as a year ago. I could put the same pics and nobody would say the difference. Nice, colorful, changeable weather. The rest is on the photos:

Yasukuni by night

Of course not everyday, only from now on till Wednesday, Mitama Matsuri. A festival of souls - a beginning of Obon (buddist All Souls' Day equivalent).

Greenhouse effect

It rains hard, and blows; from up, from side - cannot help it anyway. In 15 minutes the weather becomes an anomaly. Going from one station to another you change the continent. Next one is tropical again, concrete jungle indeed.

D700

I've been on an introduction of new Nikon camera. Everyone could ask, touch and take a picture with camera that is going into retail in two weeks. The outlook below:

Isezaki

This is an unusual place. Isezaki never sleeps. Party street of Yokohama. Daily a passage full of people, minor shops, lunch places, cafe's and stalls with Chinese import. Nightly flared promenade full of alcohol smells leads to the Thai neighborhood, where you'll find a complex massage with happy end, not necessarily by female Thai, not even necessarily by a female Thai girl... Lanterns are not really red here, outfit doesn't define sex, look doesn't define the origin. Everything is mixed here like in kaleidoscope: grunge with vice, summer breeze with unbelievable stink, peoples needs with money spent on in. Sometimes it is really good to visit this kind of place, to outdistance yourself to the small problems of everyday life. It's like zoo, I'm not pretty often there.

Foreigner with a camera apparently clears the street for a while, more than a policeman. It's not easy to perpetuate the night Isezaki these days anymore.

Minatomirai

I haven't been at the sea since long time ago. Even if the air is still fresh, let the brew at quay be the beginning of the summer season. A lot of things will happen in July...
